Didn't come to stay but fell in love.

Pastor and Sister Kennedy, Born in Gainesville(Pastor Kennedy) and Miami(Sister Kennedy), met at their home church in Miami. They met as young people working for the Lord, in the church coffee shop, working with youth, and in the music department. They married and had moved from Miami with a 6-month-old daughter and were living in the backroom of the church, while they temporarily pastored ACJC. They came to Arcadia in November of 1978 after evangelizing and interning to temporarily pastor the Apostolic Church that had previously had a few pastors since its establishment in 1974.

What started as a “temporary move” has turned into serving as pastor at ACJC for 43 years. Since then, they have built a life here and impacted the community. They have four daughters, two sons-in-law, and six grandchildren that are now laboring with them. At the church, They have served as pastor, principal, teacher, choir director, praise team leader, piano player, “parents/grandparents” for many, and the list continues. For 20 years they ran and taught at Life Christian Academy. In recent years, they have supported VBS and other outreaches in the community. The “temporary move” has turned into a great burden for children and the community. ACJC has been blessed to have them serve as Pastor and First Lady of the church for the last 43 years.

They are transitioning this year from Pastor to Bishop as they keep their hearts and arms open to loving, helping and leading.

In Jeremiah 3:15 it says "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding."

Bishop and Sister Kennedy are people after God's own heart and are here to love and help the people of Arcadia.
